O realizador Martin Scorsese e o actor Andrew Garfield reuniram-se a convite da The Hollywood Reporter para discutir o filme Silence. A película segue a história de dois padres jesuítas que viajam até ao Japão à procura do seu mentor numa época em que a violência e as perseguições aos católicos atingiram proporções imensas. 

Oito potenciais candidatas aos Óscares | The Hollywood Reporter, Novembro 2015

No encontro anual "à mesa" a The Hollywood Reporter juntou oito estrelas que segundo a revista têm potencial para serem nomeadas a Óscares. 

As oito mulheres são Jennifer Lawrence, Carey Mulligan, Cate Blanchett, Jane Fonda, Brie Larson, Helen Mirren, Charlotte Rampling e Kate Winslet. As fotografias são da autoria de Miller Mobley.

As expectativas para The Big Short são muitas. Tantas que a The Hollywood Reporter convidou Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling e Steve Carell, o realizador Adam McKay e o autor Michael Lewis. As fotografias são de Miller Mobley. 

Sobre o facto de ter pessoas e uma história real como inspiração e fonte, Bale disse: “Michael [Burry] came to visit the set a number of times. And he’s a fascinating individual. We just talked for, it was like eight or nine hours straight. I became very fond of him. I love playing real characters because you create a mannerism, and the director might question that, but you’ve got the evidence. You can just call him over and chat with him for a little bit and go, ‘See, right?"

Actores à mesa | The Hollywood Reporter. Dezembro 2015

Depois da versão feminina, a The Hollywood Reporter juntou à mesa (redonda) os actores Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Caine, Mark Ruffalo, Joel Edgerton, Benicio Del Toro e Will Smith.

As estrelas partilharam experiências e conversaram sobre as carreiras. Jackson, por exemplo, falou sobre as criticas negativas que muitas vezes são associadas a Quentin Tarantino e explicou: “People say a lot of things about Quentin–that he’s racist, he’s this, he’s that. But every character that he has ever written for me has been a very intelligent, very driven person.”

Já Edgerton desabafou sobre a sua entrada no mundo do entretenimento: “I felt this debt to my father to make out like I was going to do something responsible with my life.” E continuou, “I was terrified to tell him that what I really wanted to do was either paint pictures or become an actor. And he found out, and he said, ‘You should follow your dreams, and money and all that other stuff, it comes as a byproduct."

Matt Damon | The Hollywood Reporter. Outubro 2015

A The Hollywood Reporter conversou com a estrela de The Martian - Matt Damon. Quando perguntam ao actor sobre o antecipado regresso à saga Jason Bourne, depois de ter entregue o franchise a Jeremy Renner, Damon explica que o seu regresso se deve ao realizador Paul Greengrass. Damon expressa: “I always tied myself to Paul. I always said, if he came back, I would love to come back. And we would talk about it periodically. But we just didn’t have a story to tell. We just didn’t have anything. And the studio was under pressure because they have a deal with the estate: They have to make a Bourne movie or they [lose the rights]. I don’t know what the deal is, but I know that any time there’s a franchise that’s this successful, there’s a lot of pressure". Leiam mais aqui.
